Classes and Assessments
Instructor features allow you to create classes, questions, question banks, quizzes, and assignments; grade student work; and provide feedback. Students can join classes, complete assignments, and review graded work.
Support frequent practice and feedback
The questions, question banks, quizzes, assignments, solutions, and grading features are designed to make frequent argument-mapping practice manageable.
Instructors can create reusable questions and solutions, organize questions into banks, and build quizzes that draw questions from those banks. Large question banks can be used to vary the questions students receive across quizzes or attempts. This can support mastery-learning approaches, in which students practice until they demonstrate understanding, while also making it more difficult to copy or share answers.
Prepared solutions can be made available to students automatically at the time selected by the instructor. Instructors can then supplement those solutions with scores and concise written feedback.
This workflow can help instructors give students repeated opportunities to practice argument mapping and receive timely feedback, including in large classes. Frequent practice accompanied by feedback may be especially important for helping students develop their argument-mapping and reasoning skills.
Typical workflow
- Enable instructor features.
- Create a class and invite students to join.
- Create questions and solutions.
- Optionally organize questions into banks.
- Create a quiz from questions and banks.
- Create and publish an assignment for a class.
- Students take the assignment.
- Grade the submissions and provide feedback.
- Students review their graded work.
